Google Relying More on Knowledge Graph Reviews
Not too long ago your web presence wasn’t that big of a deal. If you had a nice-looking website with the proper contact information, that was usually enough to get your company by, but that is no longer the case. The influx of smartphones and more digital marketing means that the majority of potential customers are now going online before anything else to find their goods and services.
This means that your website needs to look great, your SEO needs to be on the up and up, and perhaps most importantly, that your company’s online reviews look appealing to potential customers. Online reviews play a major factor in customers’ decisions and should be treated as a top priority, especially with Google’s new move to make third party reviews more visible. Let’s review what Google is up to concerning your reviews, and what your company needs to do about it.
Google Including More Knowledge Graph Reviews
If you search Google for your company’s name you will see a small box pop in the search results giving you vital information about the company including address, contact phone number, hours of operation and more. This is known as a knowledge graph, or knowledge graph card and is helpful to customers who want information about your company or their search query without having to dig through the clutter of search engine results.
Previously the knowledge graph card for your company would only give your Google Review, but now Google is outfitting knowledge cards with third-party review sites as well. That means when a customer searches for you and views your knowledge graph they can see your reviews from Google, as well as third-party review sites such as Yelp, Facebook, and others. You can’t just focus on one review site anymore.
What to Do About Your Knowlege Graph Reviews
With this update it is now more important than ever to stay on top of your reviews including watching out for fake reviews, responding to positive reviews, responding to negative reviews, and making sure you have a positive presence on all the major review sites. The more positive reviews you have for your site on different platforms, the better you look in the eyes of a potential customer. You may be able to take care of this on your own but if you need help turn to an online reputation management company or search engine optimization (SEO) company to always make certain your reviews are ready for your potential customers.
